Window Cleaning Commercial Buildings

Typically with commercial buildings they will only want you to clean the outside of the windows most of the time, with an occasional inside and out once every other year or so. Also there are no screens on almost all commercial buildings and no tracts to worry about either. The windows are typically a lot larger then residential windows and you will need to wipe down the entire framing. The windows will be closer together which also helps you make up some of your loss by speeding up your time to get to the next window. Commercial buildings tend to always be square with less foliage in the way making it easier to get at the windows. However you will lose time by the square footage of most commercial buildings that you will have to walk around. So don’t forget small items that force you to keep going back to your vehicle.

Some of the challenges of commercial buildings include finding a water source and tapping into it. Unfortunately there is no standard water spickets like residential homes, so you are going to need several different connections to access water at each location.

In my San Diego Window Cleaning company I do more then just was windows, another challenge but also a great way to add more money is hard water damage. Almost all commercial buildings will have some sort of hard water damage. Most people think that the windows are just dirty when in fact they need to be restored. You can address this issue with each commercial job you bid for. You want to make sure you charge for this and discuss this issue, as you do not want a client upset thinking the windows are still dirty after the job if you have not treated the window for the damage.

One thing I have learned after starting my San Diego Window Cleaning company is that when you are cleaning commercial buildings you will have to think a lot more about safety, not only your own but everyone in the building including customers or pedestrians around the building. You don’t want a ladder, a water fed pole or any of your equipment falling on someone. Nor do you want someone slipping on water and so forth. As long as you practice safe procedures you will be fine.
